This street, was the path of floodwater coming from an overflowing river into the city of Prague, Czech Republic. Flooding in 1997 and 1998 caused millions of dollars in lost property and the loss of irreplaceable art works and antiquities. This Floodwall unit was custom designed, along with the wall seal mechanism and the crane handling configuration. As you can see this single 12 ’ high by 60’ long unit effectively closes off this flood channel into downtown Prague.Rubena, the company that designs and builds the FLOODWALLS system, has been designing, manufacturing and installing water barrier systems, for over 25 years. Nearly 250, full and partial span rubber dams are in service across Europe. Some of them have been in continuous service for over 25 years.
